Speaker Distance Settings

Post by Dave3putt »

When you go into your A/V receivers' setup and tell it how far away from your listening position each speaker is, does this setting affect just the timing of the sound, or does it also affect the loudness from each speaker, or both?

Also, if your DVD player also has speaker distance settings that you use (PCM output) , are you not adjusting the sound twice for the same thing?

Adjust one or the other, not both. In your case it is timing so set that and the level. If you have a receiver that comes with a microphone for setup it adjusts that and a whole bunch more!
