Contentlink ads

Post by Dave3putt »

Is it just my computer, but what is with all these "contentlink" embedded ads I have been seeing for about the last month? If I turn Javascript off, they go away, but what a pain. They are very, very annoying.

Those should only appear on the forum if you are not logged in.

Richard,
I am logged in and am really, really seeing them. :? But I understand the economics of the day. If these are necessary for the board to flourish, then, well, ok..........

Hi Dave (hoping that's your name), :)

These links show for all except Premium (paid) members. As you noted, it is something new to the forum in the past few weeks. We are giving them a trial run to see several things (in order of importance):

1) How many complaints we get about them
2) How relevant the linked ads are
3) How much revenue they bring in

If they turn out to be relevant advertising that does not interfere with the forum "experience", then it is one more way we can pay the bills. So thank you for conveying your views on them ... it is a decision still under evaluation.

Cheers,

They are back. The good news is now you can turn them off.
