The following were gleaned from the published specifications of two different plasma models from the same manufacturer. Both models are 50 inch.
Both claim to have native resolutions of 1366 X 768, yet one claims to have a pixel pitch of .081 X. 081 the other claims a pitch of .90 X .675.
When the horizontal and vertical pitch are the same the aspect ratio can be determined by 1366/768 = 1.77 or 16:9
How do you get the .90/.675 = 1.33 (4:3) pitch to work out to 1366 X768 pixels?
Can someone suggest some good reading material for such things?
Pixel count and pixel pitch different ratio?

How about the brand and model numbers...
There is an old saw within the ISF... Don't believe the specs and claims, sometimes not even the dimensions or weight!

Off the top of my head...
The specs are just wrong and it wouldn't be the first time. The other is that this has to do with fill factor implying that you still have square pixels so to speak but there is a greater space in one direction versus the other. If this is the case then I would suspect the rectangular one to be less expensive...?

I was hoping this would be the response.
Mfg Panasonic:
Models: TH50PX6U and TH50PX600U
I remembered the information came from somewhere other than the Panasonic web site so I went there and guess what...........there both .081 X .081. This works out to the given set dimentions and the 50 inch diagonal measurement even works.
I was almost duped into thinking that engineering math had been replaced by marketing math.
