Antenna input broke off..............what now??????????

Post by mjm76 »

I was needing some expert advice. My brother in law has a 42PD60U Panasonic Plasma EDTV and he accidently broke off the RF Antenna input plug in on the back of his Plasma TV.

He currently subscribes to Charter Cable TV and there is only one RF plug in on the back of his Plasma to screw the charter cable TV into.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a work around so he can watch his cable feed?

He has several other component hook ups on the back of his Plasma but only one RF hookup.

Is there anything out there I could purchase that would accept an RF feed but then hook the TV up via either the component, composite of s-video?

I appreciate any feedback. I also thought about calling a TV repairman to see if they can fix it but it is the middle of the weekend and he is without a TV so if there are other options I could do this weekend I would try them.

Thanks :)

I didn't check the model number but he probably does not need it unless he has a cable card...

Thanks Richard,

I thought maybe I could hook my bother in law's cable up that way. No he does not have a cable card.

My wife and I have had DirecTV for 10 years now so I have dealt with Cable TV and their hook ups for some time now.

I was not sure if the Cable signal would pass through a VCR or a DirecTV receiver and into the TV or not. I will try it and see what happens.

Thanks again. :)
