China Rises on CBC HD

Last evening I watched Parts 1 & 2 of "China Rises" which I had recorded on my HD PVR. A fascinating 4 hour series on China as it prepares for the 2008 Olympic Games. It combines the documentary talents of the CBC, the New York Times and other broadcast partners. I believe the series should win some awards, it is of that quality.

The HD PQ is excellent ... including some beautiful scenic shots; gorgeous colors. Although in a few fast moving sequences I did notice some pixelation ... but it was a minor flaw. The DD5.1 sound is also of high quality ... and yes they do make use of all channels.

Parts 3 & 4 air on Sunday, January 29th 8 & 9pm EST. I highly recommend that you check it out! Available on Bell Express Vu 802, Star Choice 292, Shaw Cable 309.

During the introduction they mentioned that this was to be the debut of a world wide distribution.
