PBS - Great Performances

"Cream Reunion Concert"

Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton reunite for a concert in May 2005 at Royal Albert Hall. TVG (11/30/2005). 90 minutes.

HDTV with DD5.1 surround sound.

Excellent concert ... these old guys still know how to rock 'n roll!

Thank you PBS for yet another concert well done. I love PBS!

Repeated several times November 30 - December 2, 2005.

The last time I saw these guys play together was Oct. 19, 1968 at the Los Angeles Forum. Truly a night to remember. I don't own any of the DVDs, so this showing of the reunion was a treat. I've ordered the reunion on DVD and it is on its way to me as I type. It has a DTS track on it. There is also an extra 40 minutes of music. One of my favorite bands of the day....

I just missed Cream, as I was too young, but I did catch Blind Faith a couple of times. I have been bitterly disappointed in Clapton for years now because of his laid back adult contemporary sound. Sure, it's good for what it is, but it ain't the Clapton I grew up on.

Before I go out and buy this DVD, I need to know if Eric wails the whole way through, part of the way, or just goes through the motions to cash in on the reunion thing?

Btw, one of the Audiophile mags (either Stereophile or Absolute Sound) just eviscerates Clapton's last bunch of offerings.
