can a ird be mirrored - One HD RCVR feeding two displays

Post by roth79 »

I have a small lcd in the bedroom with a standard tivo with a lifetime sub, I cant change it out to pay for a new dvr service. Can I mirror the a hd reciever in the other room from the output from the hd reciever? The rooms are back to back...

Any suggestions without breaking down and getting a new hd dvr for a new monthly charge, as dtv wont give me one even to keep my service if I dont activate the dvr service!! I do have directv hd package with no hd reciever in the other room.

I appreciate all the help in the fourums, I do read and have learned alot from all of you..

BTW just had my OLD pioneer elite calibrated from isf and it looks great.

Not 100% sure what you're asking, but you should be able to take composite or S video out of the HD receiver into the SD Tivo. You'll have to run cables through the wall for the A/V cables from the Hd receiver to the Tivo and vice versa for the IR control from the Tivo to the Hd receiver. Theoretically it should work.

Of course if you're trying to watch something in the other room and Tivo wants to record something you'll have conflicts.

What's driving the SA tivo right now? Cable or a stand alone sat receiver?
