Crash - DVD

Post by Richard »

A number of short stories are intertwined for a slice of life delivery that centers around Los Angeles and the racial stereotypes and preconceptions each citizen deals with daily. Many well known actors make up the cast and a well written screenplay with all coming across very realistic, maybe too realistic. Not for mixed company... This was a great movie but yet for us it seems there was nothing inspiring as each story centers on a tragedy and the epiphany each character finds about their view of life. Kind of a roller coaster emotionally...

This is tough stuff and it is shocking that Hollywood would make such a meaningful and down to earth movie.

Recommended for the humanity of it all.

I was blown away by this movie! I think it is a movie that everyone should see. It is brutally realistic at times. Yet, as Roger Ebert said in his review "you may have to look hard to see it, but "Crash" is a film about progress".

Characters crash into one another and as a result they learn things, mostly about themselves. And as a result they become better people. And yes there is tragedy, but that comes with racism.

There is hope because Hollywood has shown that it is capable of making a meaningful movie that pulls no punches and is not afraid of telling the truth.

I had a couple over to my home to watch it with me ... both also enjoyed it, saying it was better than they expected.
