ongoing cable problems...

Post by richinwb »

Hi folks..i need an opinion or 2..ever since i subsribed to my cable companies hd programming..over a year..ive had continueing problems with tileing and freezeing of the picture and audio dropouts of course..ive gotten months of refunds and promises of upgrades..just the other day they replaced all the drops and installed new amps on my street..they already had replaced the drops and lines to the house..the problem still persists..my question is this..the stb is a dct-6200 and i run the component out to my yamaha rx-v2500..then to my moniter..is it possibly the reciever causing the problem?..thanks ..

Definitely try a new receiver just in case. typically those kinds of problems are related to poor signal to noise ratio but it seems they have done everything they can locally...

... so it may be a problem prior to all that stuff or even at the head end.

Don't know where you are but try this link viewforum.php?f=81 and if that does not work try AVS forum for your area. You really need to get with some other locals for this problem so you can check things like signal to noise ratio and compare numbers.

Sounds exactly like poor signal strength. They wouldn't change all that equipment unless they thought they had a problem.
