Charles, Ray: Genius Loves Company

Ray invites well known artists to join him on this final album of the legendary artist. This represents a fair mix of the styles Ray has entertained over the years. That said it does come across more as Ray being invited to sing a popular song of the artist with the artist and that did not always put Ray in the best light. In many ways I like this album for those unique performances rather than Ray Charles and in fact would recommend older Ray Charles albums to the new fan.

While not too catchy at first it did slowly grow on me. This is a tough call. If you have interest I suggest checking out the internet for some sound bites to listen to prior to purchase. If you are fan of the many artists then that alone could put it in your hands.
