Ray - CD Soundtrack

Post by Richard »

After watching the movie I had Ray on my mind and dug up some older CDs I had but they did not have most of the material in the movie so I bought that disc.

Beware... In the movie you are going to hear some really good audio but the CD is nothing more than the original recordings untouched and it shows. Very disappointing...

BTW, there is another soundtrack CD providing additional recordings not in the movie. Interesting...

All things being equal, the CD should sound better then the DD soundtrack. Higher bit rate, although you never know what went into those early CD pressings. I have some pretty crappy sounding CD's in my collection. The problem with all these new hi rez formats, especially when listened to on good equipment, makes your used to be fav CD's sound like shit. I now have plenty of doubles in my collection.

The DD soundtrack was massaged to sound very good. The CD provides the original recordings with no doctoring.
