Arthur from childhood to his roundtable days, in Britton, fighting the Saxons for the glory of Papal controlled Rome in 450AD. Throw in Merlin and his ragged band of followers and you have a somewhat confusing but also fairly enjoyable epic. Lots of good battle scenes with loads of gore and blood. The rental I unknowingly grabbed was the extended unrated version, but instead of getting an eyefull of Lady Gunivere, all you get is extra gore. I think the regular version might have been a more even watch.
Are there any history buffs out there? The Romans abandoned Brittian when the Saxons invaded from the north. Who are and where do the Saxons come from? Was Merlin really involved in this whole thing?
