HD for Microsoft Media Center 2005 PCs
The built-in Tivo in MCE is pretty good and lets one buy more disk and burn DVDs. No High Def yet, of course. Anyone know if that is coming or if there is a replacement internal tuner board that handles high def and has a MCE driver/ program?

Is this a "Tivo" brand or a "Tivo" clone? I saw Tivo Corp was suing companies using their trademark without a license.Tech-eelah wrote:The built-in Tivo in MCE is pretty good and lets one buy more disk and burn DVDs.

MCE "Tivo"
This is Tivo-like. Nowhere does it say Tivo, though.
There is no per month charge; MS payed that. It uses an updated guide like Tivo, which makes it easy to record and manage whole series.
As the posts that Raff pointed out to my original question, it looks like there will NOT be and HiDef versions of MCE in the short term future.
