Sat and cablecard

A friend of mine is considering buying a tv like mine. I was explaining to him how I have the cablecard. He is on Direct TV sat. Is there any way to utilize a cablecard with a sat set-up?

Nope. Cablecard is a Cable TV technology. He'll need a Sat set top box.
