Plasma burn in reduced

Post by TIPS List »

----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

Hugh,

There are several proprietary approaches. Just to mention a few:

Dwin Plasma Image Trio:
-------------------------------------
A MotionAdaptive screen saver circuit is employed to prevent phosphor
burn-in. The feature engages after sensing a non-moving picture for
two minutes and automatically powers off the panel if the image
remains static longer than five minutes.

LG
----
A new model incorporate LG's new 60,000-hour "DoubleLife" technology
and four exclusive image-sticking prevention options to reduce "screen
burn-in" issues inherent in plasma displays.

Vidrikon
---------
Plasmaview, 60", VP-60 monitor $20,000, 1366x768, 3:2 pulldown,
antiburn circuitry

In general, plasmas started to use a shift pixel approach by which the
entire image if shifted just a few pixels at intervals that are not
noticeable to the viewer.

Best Regards,
