HDTV National Broadcasters Native Scan Rates

Post by HD Library »

The following list only represents the original signal that is nationally broadcast and does not include any possible conversions by your satellite provider or local affiliate. It is understood that satellite converts all HD content with their encoders and decoders and does not necessarily retain the full bitstream bandwidth that was provided to them. Local affiliates are free to retransmit at any bit rate or scan rate and you will have to check your local affiliate for further information. Most do follow the national scan rate. If you do not have sub channels or multichannel from your local affiliate then you are getting the full bitstream.

As always set your STB for the native scan rate of your display. Only use native settings when you have a multiscan rate display, very few of us, which is not the same thing as accepting multiple scan rates and scaling them to the native scan rate of your display.
