Dear members,
When posting an answer there is a feature called Quote. Historically the main purpose of a quote is to take a small part of a larger work to provide a comment on that particular issue. Due to the nature of a forum sometimes quoting a complete post is necessary if your response is not the next one in line. Without the full quote other members may lose track of the discussion or your response will not make sense.
When you are reading threads there is a button included with each post called Quote. In nearly all cases that function has not been necessary for the response so please click on reply instead.
If you would still like to use the quote function please use one of the following methods.
To use this feature you can select and copy the text while you are reading the thread or after clicking on reply and entering the reply page there is another window below the reply window showing you the complete discussion for you to select and copy text.
Simply click on the Quote button and the BBCode is automatically generated, paste the text you wanted next to the code and then click on the Quote button again and the final BBCode is generated at the end of your text.
Another method would be to click on Quote while viewing the post and on the reply page edit the text within the BBCode quotes.
Use quotes when necessary and avoid them if this is not needed. Please assist the forum moderator in this so he or she will not waste time removing unnecessary quotes in posts. The reason behind this is to reduce page load times and the size of the forum database while enhancing search engine performance.
Thanks!
