Typically associated with RPTV it is the shiny plexi-glass outer screen you see that is permanently a part of your screen assembly and it causes glare. In many cases the screen protector can be removed by a technician but beware as this modification could cause a problem if the unit should need to be swapped out by the manufacturer while under warranty. Mitsubishi did offer their models with optional screen protector that you can remove yourself (up to 2005).
