Here is a picture of the overshoot I was talking about with the Panasonic RP91 DVD player. It does show up on screen. Now that I have had time to think about it I do recall this being an artifact of MPEG.

Jim,
One more thing, my upconverter brightness was calibrated properly so I get proper pluge when it is set to "0". Try this with VE T17 C2;
Input an "s" or compos...comp...I can't say it.
Set the RP91 black level to "lighter" , that's Panasonic speak for 7.5 IRE. Set 4404 brightness to "0". Now check on the scope or adjust the display device.
Now input component signal. Set RP91 black level to "darker" , that's Panasonic speak for "0mv". Set 4404 brightness to "0". Now check scope or look at display, it should be perfect. Also note on the scope that they have allowed for BTB at 0mv by allowing the signal to swing into negative voltage!
