I could be totally wrong but my understanding is that if you use an outboard drive it takes the place of the onboard drive - you can use one or the other but not both. I would bet that they use some proprietary encoding or encryption to keep the movie industry happy, but if you have the stuff on a separate drive then maybe some hacker can figure it out.
Maybe they should just sell licenaes to own the damn movie. I have already bought "Spinal Tap" 3 times. 2 VHS (ex-wife #2 absconded with the first), then 480P DVD and will probably get the Blu Ray (or HD DVD)version when it becomes available. Sigh...

That depends a LOT on your display and whether it's native 720p or 1080i. 720p on a 720p display can look better than 1080i on the same display.exoren22 wrote:Actually, I've watched every Super Bowl since Fox's first 480p broadcast in HD. The 1080i broadcasts(cbs) are much better. Also, Golf is so much better in 1080i that I find it hard to watch in 720p. (I watch golf because it's pretty)

Thank you for your interest. Due to a few other higher priority items that must be completed first, it will likely be end of July before I have this put together. Sorry for the delay.

Shane, I read in another forum and iti supported by the link below that Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia is blocked from all satellite providers. Is this true? I was surprised to hear this (and am hoping you have newer news) b/c I saw this channel in your list of projected new HD channels (I know it is a projectection and understand all discalimers).

Re: Directv misleads
The Voom network that shows Soundstage is Rave. It shows all music programs in nothing but HD.zuuser1 wrote:I'm glad I switched to Dish a while ago. VOOM has some great channels such as RUSH, EQUATOR, SOUNDSTAGE, MONSTERS. I believe they still have significant capacity to keep adding HD channels in order to continue to be the HD leader. Directv needs to offer a good product, not a bunch of fluff. How stupid do they think we are? Yes it is good that Directv is improving their HD. It will give Dish motivation to continue to offer a superior product.
