DIRECTV Partners With HDNet and HDNet Movies to Offer On Demand Programming

Starz Entertainment Announces Five More Channels Going Hi-Def

StarzStarz Entertainment revealed plans to launch five additional high definition (HD) channels, adding to its suite of premium, commercial-free offerings. Anticipated to launch in phases in early-mid 2010, Starz In Black HD and Starz Cinema HD will round out the complete Starz channel lineup in HD. Additionally, IndiePlex HD and RetroPlex HD will debut, as well as a West Coast feed of the flagship Encore HD channel and bring Starz Entertainment's total HD channels and feeds to eleven.

Netflix Announces Agreement With Disney-ABC Television Group to Stream Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and More

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) , the world's largest online movie rental service, today announced an agreement with Disney-ABC Television Group that will make several of ABC's most popular TV series available to be streamed instantly from Netflix.

In its entirety, the deal will allow Netflix members to instantly watch the first five seasons of the hit ABC franchise "Lost," seasons four and five of the pop culture phenomenon "Desperate Housewives," season five of the critically acclaimed "Grey's Anatomy," and seasons one and two of the syndicated epic action-adventure fantasy series "Legend of the Seeker" from ABC Studios.
