I have had problems from day one with this set and cablecards. My provider is Time Warner cable. They have been to the house countless times. We tried single stream and the new dual stream Scientific Atlanta cards. Finally, one card was able to receive most channels. when the set looks for digital and analog signals, the number of channels displayed is zero with a notice that no channels were found and call your cable service. A few seconds later, all the channels appear! Does anyone know what's going on? Is there a firmware update from Sony. Time Warner techs say all the cards they tried with my set work with other brands. Obviously, the techs phoned in the information so that my set at least recognizes the card. I frequently have the tech supervisor contact the headend to run a cablecard script. That only works until another update to the system and I start all over again. Is there any solution to this problem?

Check to see if Sony has a firmware upgrade. If under warranty pursue Sony. That said, in most cases it is the cable company and rarely the manufacturer...

I have had Comcast multiple times to try and make cable card work...no luck. They replaced the card and it may work shortly then eventually go out. They have other customers with the same tvand same problem. I was given the recommedation from them to contact Sony for an upgrade though my tv is relatively new! add: the older NG Comcast cards work OK if you can get one; the newer multistream cards are the ones that are problematic with the Sony Bravia.
