DVD vs DVD-HD and or Blu-Ray DVD

I think I already know the answer, in part, but can someone clarify what the difference is from standard DVD vs the new HD DVD discs and players? Also does it eliminate the title bars so that we have a full screen 16:9 aspect?

SD is standard definition, HD DVD and Blu-ray exceeds the ATSC standard for HD. If you can see a difference between SD DVD and HDTV it will have value for you. Does more need to be said?
K... how about a huge improvement in audio as well!
Also does it eliminate the title bars so that we have a full screen 16:9 aspect?
If you mean the black bars top and bottom on 2.35 spect ratio content as displayed on your 1.78 aspect ratio screen I sure hope not... Why would you want to see less of the original image? Just to fill out
your screen?
