We have DirectTV and are not able to receive HD network channels (already called DirectTV about it) - in speaking with some beighbors, they said to just buy an antenna which we did (the Radio Shack one for $50 after reading several reviews) - the instructions are alot to be desired and I have read conflicting advice - anyone willing to take a stab at helping ?(we have a 42" Panasonic HD TV with a home theater hooked up by the original A/V contractor when we bought our house). We need to know the make and model nymber of your DirecTV receiver. If I know your zip code and the Radio Shack antenna part number I can probably predict how adequate it will be. -Ken

I have to look up the model of the HD receiver when I get home. The Radio Shack antenna model is Model: 15-1892 and my zip code is 29710. I need direction on how to hook up the cable from the antenna to the HD box and then what to do.

I would bet that that antenna will work fine for you. But until you have tried it you will not know with 100% certainty. (The effect of nearby obstacles is never completely predictable.) So don

I have a Dishnetwork HD reciever (VIP 622 DVR) and it hooks up the same as DirectTV reciever through the Antenna/CATV input. I bought a DB8 multidirectional antenna from Antennas Direct. I am getting a great picture from stations that are over 50 miles away. When I get around to mouting it outside it should be even better.

I had a SIR-TS360 and it worked great. You need to do a digital scan for channels and then add/delete the channels you want. They show up seamlessly with the satellite channels using the digital channel number (11-1, 11-2, 5-1, etc.).

I did figure that out but now it says it is searching for a satelitte signal when I turn to say 3.1 or 3.2 - we already have an off air antenna from Direct TV (I am going to return the Radio Shack one) so I'm afraid that I will have to call in Direct TV to see what the problem is.

Are the other satellite channels ok? Sounds like you may have hooked up the antenna to the satellite input. Make sure the satellite is still hooked up to the satellite input and the antenna is on the antenna (ATSC) input.
