Hello , i owned a viewsonic n3760w (it has vga and hdmi inputs). I connect the pc via a dvi to hdmi convertor and the monitor can't display the full resolution (1360x768) correct.If i connect the pc directly with a vga cable it's ok , but not with hdmi .any idias?

What exactly is the error you are getting?

i don't get an error . but the picture is not clear , it's flicking .i saw that other users of hdtvs have the same problem .

More details... are using a DVI cable and then an adapter? Is it DVI on one end and HDMI on the other? How long is the run?

Error = Flickering. Do you mean a noise in the picture? jittering up and down? a flickering change in brightness?

? other users of YOUR model or other users in general? I don't have this problem...

the dvi from the pc is connected to a convertor and from the convertor a hdmi cable goes to the tv. the run is at least 3 meters.the picture is like is out of phase and there are missing some lines and it's flicker , no change in brightnes(it's hard to explain ). i saw that other users of my model have the same problem .

ops my bad. i ment cable, not convertor.the cable in one end has dvi (that goes to the pc) and at the other end has a hdmi (that goes to the tv).in more detail when i put the monitor to 1360x768 resolution the desktop is biger than the screen . the resolution is bad enough that i can't read the letters. some graphics are flickering. i installed a utility called power strip and some numbers are worrying (and in more detail in the EDID info (which i don't have a clue what it is,but the numbers are not the numbers that my tv suppose to have) ). thanx in advance

Just to be clear yours is 1366X768.

You are trying to achieve 1X1 pixel mapping.

Appears the EDID is your problem if it does not have the right numbers in it but I have never gone to the depth you are at either. I see you have found power strip to hopefully over-ride the EDID.

As for missing things that is far more common than people are aware of, it is called overscan, and 1-2% on a flat panel is not out of the ordinary and far better than the 6-10% we used to get out of our old consumer CRT friends. None the less you still may experience clipping off the edges...

Regardless of overscan you should be able to obtain a 1X1 pixel map, perfect response, if you can get your PC to output 1366X768. Off the top of my head I do not recall that being a common scan rate for any PC or games either so that could be tough to achieve any other way besides Power Strip. Even if you can get that to work you may still have artifacts related to games that do not directly support your scan rate making it impossible for you to generate a 1X1 pixel map. IE, 1280X720 will never do a 1X1 pixel map with your display.

In the end using analog may be the better and easier alternative. What you gain by going all digital is incremental at best and the product itself would need to be researched to confirm that a digital input even remains digital throughout the signal path to recieve the full benefit of such a connection.

I would have expected 1366X768 since that is what it is or 1920X1080 inferring the maximum scan rate it will accept.

setup Power Strip for 1366X768 and let us know what happened
