I have the following components:

Cable DVR - Motorola DTC 6412
TV - Hitachi 57F710
A/V Reciever - Pioneer VSX-D510 (replacing within the next 6 mo)
DVD Player - Sony DVP NC875P
VCR - statndard A/V in/out's

I've got myself pretty confused connecting these together to get the full potental out of it all. Here is an image of the rear if that would help anyone help me :)

This isn't too bad.

Cable DVR.
Video - Component video cable(Red/Green/Blue) out of DVR to Component input 1 of TV. I would also run a 2-channel (Red/White) audio cable in case you don't want the receiver always on for sound.
Audio - Fiber optic from DVR to Receiver.

DVD Player.
Video - Component video cable out of DVD to Component input 2 of TV.
Audio - Coaxial from DVD player to Receiver

VCR.
Video/Audio - Composite and 2-channel (Yellow, Red, White) from output of VCR to input 3 of TV.

Since your DVR appears to have DVI out and the tv has HDMI in, you might be able to use a DVI to HDMI cable and keep it all digital.

If your new receiver supports component video switching you could route both the DVD and cable box video into the receiver and then route the component video out from the receiver to the TV component video in. That way when you switch the receiver from DVD to DVR input it switches both the sound and the video.

The only reason I did not suggest this is because the TV is a CRT RPTV. Most people see little to no benefit whether the DVR does the Digital to Analog conversion or the TV does it.

Excelent! I didn't even think of bypassing the reciever and going right to the TV for video. Yeah, I've been looking at a/v recievers that have at least 3 component video inputs and two outputs.

The only good reason would be HDCP but hopefully that's not an issue for several more years.

Try audiogon.com or videogon.com

Go to the classifieds under recievers. You can pick up a quality unit at less then half the new price. I've done dozen of deals there and have been very happy with the system I've built. There's no reason to pay bust out retail prices for a lot of this stuff when there are nuts out there who dump their almost new gear for half price just because some manufacturer adds some bells and whistles to a new model. Just check the seller's feedback.

Whatever you end up doing, make sure your next reciever has DVI and/or HDMI inputs in case you upgrade your TV down the road.
