Beethoven: Symphony 5 and 6 (Abbado) - DVD Audio 24/96

This version falls into the classical dust bin for me along with most of the others. The sonic signature is dark with the upper registers buried. The orchestra is not together creating the typical cacophony of rhythmic delivery. The conduction is the typical romantic which when applied to the second movement of the 5th puts me to sleep. It ended there and I never made it to the 6th.
If you want to know what has been killing classical music in our society this disc provides a great example!
I suggest passing this one by.
