Receiver: No audio or sound - has power

If your unit turns on and lights up but you have no sound there are a number of things to look at.

Confirm you have the speaker switch turned on.

If your receiver provides pre out and main in input jacks they must be connected to one another or an equalizer or similar product properly setup and installed on these jacks.

Confirm you have the right input/source selected.

Confirm the tape input or tape monitor switch is not activated. Tape monitor engages the tape input while feeding the source you selected to the record outputs going to the tape deck. With out a tape deck connected and in the record mode you will not get sound.

Perform a system reset. This will return your unit to the out of the box condition you received it in. If your problem was due to improper setup this should fix it. Check your owners manual for the proper procedure.

If none of the above resolves your problem it is time to call service.
