A few points...

SD cable channels should appear the same on the 6200 as the 5100 if you had that box prior. There have been number of comments that the SD on the 6208 is worse. The SD from the 5100/6200 is marginal anyway so the fact that folks are actually complaining about the 6208 is a bad sign.

If you are directly viewing either the 1394 or DVI it has been reported here in Atlanta on Comcast and Charter that you do not get the on screen display for channel or the menu system. This may be resolved via a software upgrade...

It is not a "secret" menu but a lot of people are not aware of the
Diagnostics screen.

To enter the Diagnostics menu:
1. make sure your TV and Comcast receiver are turned on,
2. tune the Comcast receiver to the channel you wish to check the
status of,
3. manually press the power button on the Comcast receiver (this
turns off the receiver) and immediately press the select button on
the Comcast receiver,
4. you are now in the Comcast Diagnostics screen,
5. scroll down to "d06" - Current Channel Status and press the select
button,
6. you are in the Current Channel Status screen,
7. look at "Type" and it will tell you whether the signal is digital
or analog (the current channel you were on when you turned off the
Comcast receiver)
8. to exit press the select button, scroll down to exit, press the
select button again,
9. your Comcast receiver should be off.

One thing that I noticed on the 6412 is that because
there are 2 tuners, there are 2 pages listed under the
current channel status (page 1 for tuner 1 and page 2
for tuner 2). To make sure, put both tuners on the
channel you are trying to check.
