This question comes about after seeing numerous shots were the image was slightly out of focus, as if the camera operator couldn't tell from their viewfinder. Given you rarely see this anymore in the SD broadcasts, is this then a function of the equipment ?

In theory, it has to be harder to focus. But with properly designed equipment, good focus is always achievable. Two problems often interfere.

First is the mentality
