Panasonic: DVDRP91 DVD player

Here is a picture of the overshoot I was talking about with the Panasonic RP91 DVD player. It does show up on screen. Now that I have had time to think about it I do recall this being an artifact of MPEG.

On the Philips component scope you will be pleased to know the bow-tie is near perfect with full chroma bandwidth to boot!
Where did your units amplitude yeild 1v p-p?

That agrees with my sample, others have reported otherwise. Do me a favor, check B out from your upconverter when inputting YPbPr on VE T17 C7 to see what your getting. I have ver2.31 or so and chroma lines up at -34. Chroma AGC off of course and 0 on both enhancements.

V2.24 and I am at -28. With the early 4404 Ultras the steps were very small.

Jim,
One more thing, my upconverter brightness was calibrated properly so I get proper pluge when it is set to "0". Try this with VE T17 C2;
Input an "s" or compos...comp...I can't say it.
Set the RP91 black level to "lighter" , that's Panasonic speak for 7.5 IRE. Set 4404 brightness to "0". Now check on the scope or adjust the display device.
Now input component signal. Set RP91 black level to "darker" , that's Panasonic speak for "0mv". Set 4404 brightness to "0". Now check scope or look at display, it should be perfect. Also note on the scope that they have allowed for BTB at 0mv by allowing the signal to swing into negative voltage!
