Sometimes the sync problem is in the feed and not your equipment.
What are you using for sound - the TV or a separate AV receiver? How is the audio connected?
Do you use the DirecTV receiver for OTA or the TV tuner?

Thanks for your reply. I normally listen to everything using the TV sound except for my living room TV I sometimes use my sound system. I use the TV tuner for OTA on most TV's except my living room TV which I use the DirecTV for OTA. I also thought maybe it was the feed causing the problem but when I could sometimes correct the synchronization by changing the channels I changed my mind. There has been a time when I can't correct the problem by changing the channels and I guess I can blame these instances on the feed. You would think with all the great digital feed technology out there that the OTA program networks and TV stations would have corrected what seems like a fairly simple problem like this.

I also have the problem, I feel it is with Directv, I do not have it on CBand or my other DVB. I contacted Directv and they said that they have problems with lip syn and gave me some methods to try to correct the problem which I have done but does not work. I guess I will have to call them abain.

Thanks for the reply pgrunt! I have also called DirecTV and was told the lip sync was a problem with the networks that they receive and then re-broadcast. What methods did they tell you to try to correct the problem? I am sure others and myself would like to try them.

I sometimes see very minor problems. When the problems are more than minor I usually find I have my sound system source from DirecTV but my TV is on ATSC tuner or vice versa.

and I should add... when I notice sound or picture problems on network shows (watching via DirecTV) I switch to the TV ATSC tuner using TV sound to verify problem is station or DirecTV. It us usually the station (or could be network). Before DirecTV began broadcasting local station digital I could get Fox, ABC and CBS east coast feeds on DirecTV which allowed me to isolate issues between digital OTA and network, but now that DirecTV provides local stations digital we have lost that ability.
