Having lived thru the mits wd73727 light engine fiasco, I now find myself with a mits wd73833 and a bad lamp after 7 months of usage. The 73727 had a way to view hr usage and it needed to be reset when the lamp was changed....as per mits there is no way to do this on the mits wd 73833. How do you know how many hrs your getting out of a $250 lamp. Does anyone know how I can check?

ARGH! I don't know why some manufacturers do this... I guess we will consider this a special circumstance and break our own rules...
Use the following at your own risk (if you follow the directions nothing bad will happen)
press MENU
Enter 2470
DO NOT PUSH ANY OTHER BUTTONS!!!
At the bottom is how many hours your TV has been on
Press MENU to exit
There is no way to reset the hours so keep a record.
