Improving voice clarity for hearing problems

I have the Sony KDL 46XBR4 46 inch HDTV with a added surround sound setup. Since I have a hearing problem the voice clarity on taped network shows (we have Comcast Cable) is very poor. How can I enhance the voice quality?
