I just recently purchased a LG LCDV TV with built in DVR and am having a similar problem with not being able to program a guide into the TV. Mine may be a completely different problem from the LST-3410A. I can manually record a program but can not program to record something whenever because there is no guide or program list.

If anyone has a clue on what I may be able to do, I would sure appreciate a reply...

I live in China and receive my programing from two satellite dishes, one signal comes from Hong Kong and the other from Taiwan, both from the "Dream" satellite company.

The LG TV is great other than this problem....

jpongrass . . .

This ? - - http://www.dreamsatellite.net/

Yours may well be far beyond the "limitations" of the built-in DVR of your TV . . . in following this 'link' - it continues onward to Beijing Satellite Group & the Philippines, with Many different programing packages, some w/ a "cable card" & others with their own proprietary (?) access arrangements . . .

Here is more - - - http://www.chinasatellitetv.us/dream.htm

Soon gets very ' convoluted ! ' . . . . your "best bet" may be to contact their Engineering Group?

Eli,

Thanks for the links....

I will be working on this project and hopefully come up with a solution.

I also tried to find some info thru LG on this TV. Couldn't find anything pertaining to my model with build-in DVR. Strange.....

Hi jpongrass ..

Last time, all of us perused hi & lo with mostly "no luck" -- I had given up, suggesting you pay for a translation of your own manual & another had suggested using a similar but none-the-less English manual from a different set.

As best I could determine, that specific set IS unique to your Market ... certainly never offered here because of our various "Do not Copy" / "Digital Rights Management" / etc..

Good luck! eli

Yep, absolutely no relationship whatsoever.

The only similarity is the fact that is a LG. As he mentioned, LG Customer Service wasn't any help to him, either. It would seem, if a person wants a reliable product & good customer service, LG isn't a good choice. I know I will not purchase anything from them, again.

Thank God for you guys & the TV Guide representative. You really give good advice. The LG is working & love the Tivo, too.

He could try contacting them: [email protected]. They are experts on getting the guide information.

Good Luck! I know how frustrating it is to pay big money for a device & not being able to enjoy it.

Two years later - I'm still using this unit.

A couple years ago, I asked for help concerning receiving TVGOs guide on my Analog model LG DVR, during the Digital Conversion.

I ended up buying a HD Tivo for the family room, which I love.

I put the LG3410 in the bedroom. With all of the negative comments concerning the DTVPal used to receive my guide information, I didn't expect it to work long.

I think DTVPals got a bad rap!

I want to say happily, it's still working great. The DTVPal does a wonderful job of downloading the guide. Actually, better now, than it did, when I first hooked it up a couple years ago. They've smoothed out some of the bugs from the digital conversion, which improved the process. Thanks again!
