Dish receiver outputs SD

I have the Dish ViP-622 and it has SD analog and S-video outputs of the HD tunner that look fine on NTSC TVs. They also have an RF output that has the output of both tuners available in NTSC. I have two NTSC TVs that are fed from the 622 and the picture quality is very good.
I think the quality of the HD broadcasts actually looks better on my old NTSC TVs than the NTSC signals you get OTA. The sets seem to be capable of better quality than what the analog transmitters are putting out.
