I always just stick my finger in the hole in the center. Look towards PS3
My experience with up-converting a SD DVD in 480p is with my PS3. Since, upgrading the PS3 to Profile 2.0 and the added filters included with the firmware upgrade 2.20 and setting DVD upscale to the FULL setting. I am getting near HD quality on most of my SD DVDs. I sometimes have to remind myself, when viewing the program or movie, this in Standard Definition DVD not HD. Even upon zooming in to rid the top and bottom letterbox bars on some of the DVDs (which should magnify video noise artifacts) I still get a great display. I am using a 2006 Panasonic 50
