To be more specific, my system when receiving a 5.1 source will read out as being Dolby Digital Ex (as I have 6:1), Dolby 2.0 when in stereo, and ProLIIEx when splitting a stereo source. This is all automatic, although I can manually change, but it will pick the best source first.
