 I have been thru 5 of the new H20-700 receivers and all of them have had some sort of problem. 1) 3 of them the remote IR was flakey and it wasn't the remote itself, 2) 1 was a refurbished that worked about a week, 3) 1 has had I guess multiple issues with the software I am told. There have been multiple software updates since its release nationwide. Why would Directv release something as bad as this receiver. They have tried to duplicate what TIVO had already perfected. I think Directv has set themselves up for a class action lawsuit with this device. I have been a Directv customer since 1996 and have never been so dissapointed with such a product, even the tech support people have admitted that the H20-700 has a lot of problems. I have been told that TIVO is comming out with a new version that will have two HD tuners, and I am tempted to cancel my service with Directv and just use TIVO and get my HD stations over the air. Anyone else feel the same or am I the only one who is disgusted.

I've had a few problems but I have a DirecTivo for casual viewing and only use the HR20-700 in the home theater for HD shows. I've only had to reset it twice and I lost one recorded show.

The Series 3 Tivo is already out but it's $799. My HR20-700 only cost me $70. As much as I love Tivo I can live with the HR20-700. I record a lot of HD shows on the premium channels so OTA by itself won't work for me.

I'm hoping the series 4 Tivo will do cable, OTA and satellite but that may be hoping for too much.
