Receiver won't detect DD EX??

So what technical question or comment is on your mind!

I seem to recall at one time you had to buy the disc that has the particular format. DTS comes to mind on that...

Any thoughts?

That's possible, but according to the AVS link I posted a lot of discs have DD-EX but for some reason they forgot to set the flag that tells the receiver there's an EX channel. So if you leave it on Auto Detect it won't know it's there. But if you manually put it on EX it will work.
