Star Wars In 3D!

Lucasfilm Ltd. announced today that the live-action Star Wars Saga will be converted to 3D! There are few movies that lend themselves more perfectly to 3D; from the Death Star trench run to the Tatooine Podraces, the Star Wars Saga has always delivered an entertainment experience that is completely immersive. I think I'll wait for Star Wars to cone out in 3-d Smellivision ! How many times will I keep buying the same product. Can't they make something new?

They were almost running out of ways to re-sell the same thing. Once they release the series on Blu-ray, that's the pinnacle of quality, so where to go from there? 3D in the theaters, of course, followed eventually by 3D on Blu-ray. Followed later by 3D box sets with extras. Ad infinitum.

Now THAT's a relief! Hopefully that will carry George though his retirement in comfort.

It's a great idea in theory, but like others here, I've gotten all the Star Wars I need. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE fan of the series, but its time to stop milking this cash cow. Time for something new.

If you like to watch classics in HD on Blu-ray, I for one applaud this release and it's about time! I'll likely be renting it if shiny disc rental is still available...
