Chuckken,
A friend has the 5006 from Radio Shack and CAN NOT get it to record from its S-video input. The 5006 "seems" like it is recording and the disk "looks" as if it has been written to but just doesn't play or plays noise in the 5006. His only success has been to use the composite video input.
There is a lot of chatter here on the 5005 and info on the Lite-on DVD recorders peculiarities, care and feeding, media preferences, etc. I saw your and other's posts re the 5005. Did you get a 5006? Or can you point me to a definitive collection of things one must do to make a 5005 or a 5006 "happy"? How about Firewire and the 5006?
I'll search here some more but thought you might be able to give me a short-cut. Thanks.
Jim
